Join on Custom Record

edited Dec 6, 2019 2:33PM in General 1 comment

We have a custom record Parent with fields field_1 and field_2. We're in the process of breaking it up so Parent will have a child record Module and Module has a child record Element. field_1 is being moved to Module and field_2 to Element.

Normally to join search columns from separate records, you use the target field and Join Id in the nlobjSearchColumn constructor. But as far as I can tell, only standard (or base) NS records have Join Ids. Custom records do not.

Given that we currently search for these fields on Parent, how would I modify the search so I JOIN Module.field_1 and Element.field_2 fields in the nlobjSearchColumn?

Howdy, Stranger!
