Item Based Promotion

We are trying out the Item Based Promotion and it is working fine if we process an order through NetSuite, however it is not working of our on line store. I noticed a new field Site which is automatically populated with our company name which is not the url for the store... where is the site info populated from? Can it be changed? The site help reads "Select the web site this promotion is associated with." What's defaulted in the field is our company name not our web site url.
