Missing Payment Numbers

On the transaction tab of the customer record you used to be able to the payment number (customer check number) in the default view.  It has disappeared in Version 11.  I hate the idea of having to create another custom view just so we can see that info.  Is this a bug or a Netsuite decision not to show this info?
