Shipping Cost in Gross Profit

Anyone know how to include shipping COST (COGS, not shipping price) in calculating estimated gross profit on transactions.

Can the item field labeled "Shipping Cost" also be used on the purchase side or just the sales side representing what we charge for shipping. If not, why isn't the field labeled Shipping Price.

Gross Profit=Total Revenue - (Item Purchase Price + Shipping Cost)

Has anyone figured out how to calculated gross profit on a sales order that includes a Shipping COST estimate?
