Preventing accidental partial fulfillment

edited Nov 25, 2019 10:44AM in Accounting / ERP 11 comments

I ran into a new problem the other day that i am looking to prevent moving forward.

My shipping team printed a pick ticket for
QTY 2: PRODUCTA
QTY 2: PRODUCTB

and without noticing the QTY, pulled 1 of each from inventory.

Went to the fulfill-items page for that sales order, and clicked "fulfill" which fulfilled 2 of each in the system, even though he only had 1 of each in his hand.

He printed the label and shipped off 1 of each.

The customer called a couple days later saying he only received 1 of each. We looked in the system and saw a complete fulfillment for all 4 items. So there was no way for us to know if the customer was telling the truth or not. Luckily my shipping guy remembered only shipping 1 of each, and there was an extra 1 of each in inventory that the computer didnt think was there anymore. So we know what happened now, but now im wondering if there is a way to prevent the accidental partial fulfilling of sales orders.

Howdy, Stranger!
