Need some items displayed when out of stock and others not to display
I understand there is a global setting for how items are displayed on the website when the quantity available reaches 0. However, we would like to have some items displayed (for pre-order) when the item is out of stock, and have other items automatically removed from the website until the quantity is once again above 0.
Ideally, we would like to have a checkbox field on each item record that determines whether or not it should be displayed when out of stock. We know how to create a custom item field, but have no idea how to use it as a filter for displaying the item on the website. Any ideas?
