Domain Name Error

As of today our site no longer is reachable by our domain.com only www.domain.com. It was brought to our attention this morning when i opened our site to notice all the images that have img source using domain.com no longer worked. I was able to figure it out and www to all the image sources.

My question is why did this happen? Did netsuite make a change or is this an issue with my domain host. I just wonder why it has worked fine for 4 years and went off line today.

Any help would be appreciated
