At some point, a few years ago, I remember reading somewhere that NS had or was going to have the capability to offer separate catalogs for people who fit certain criteria.   I don't think this is the multiple website/store functionality but an ability to offer a catalog of only certain items at certain prices to certain individuals.

Is this ringing any bells with anyone?

We have a partner that we want to offer their customers special pricing on a lot of our items.  Problem is, we can't offer a promotion code because each item is priced differently and we don't want to use price levels.  What I was hoping to do was to create this separate catalog and display a link to this once the customer logs in to our secure partner's site.  So the only way they could access this catalog would be after they've been authenticated by our partner.
