Voiding Credit Card Transactions

Does voiding a transaction in NetSuite void the credit card transaction also, or does this have to be done manually? I can't see any voided transactions voided in verisign and am very concerned.

If so, what is the point of the void button, when clearly the refund button is the only one that should be used.
