Billing (onto CreditCard) before shipping?

Anyone billing - via a creditcard - before shipping?
Curious how others are generating the Picking Tickets in this situation.

Currently, we're printing out all tickets (billed or not) and then manually matching these with Sales Receipts to identify charged transactions.

Obviously, this is a very messy and non-scalable solution.
