Problem with changing from fiscal year to calendar year

edited Jan 15, 2014 2:16PM in Accounting / ERP 2 comments

We are changing accounting periods from FY 2014 (May 2013-April 2014) to calendar year 2014 (Jan. 2014-Dec. 2014)  I am getting error messages when I try to shorten FY 2014 by making last month as Dec 2013.  I tried deleting Jan 2014 but transactions already entered for Jan 2014. (I have considered changing dates for all those posted in Jan to Dec 2013 and then changing back when we get new year set up)

Then I found "Restriction and Automation Rules governing accounting period changes" in netsuite help which would indicate Netsuite cannot accomodate a company's change from fiscal to calendar.:h_a_w:

I'm afraid if I change fiscal month from May to January in company preferences, it will change the entire history.

Howdy, Stranger!
