Site RSS Feed - Does anyone have one?

Hi
Unless I am much mistaken (which would only be for the third time today), the NS RSS feed is only designed to feed the dashboard and does not work on public facing sites.  Please correct me and show me how if I am wrong. 

If not, has anyone created an RSS feed in/on their webstore?  Feeding stuff like new product pages, tips & tricks, new published knowledge base items etc?

How was it for you? What tool did you use? How do you maintain it? Was it worth it? The usual if only I had known then what I know now.......
