Inventory Adjustment

We manufacture most of our items.  So we've been using Inventory adjustment to put them into inventory.  BUT on the bulk of them the cost comes over at $0.00.  I can understand the 1st time that we put it in, but we've made several of these & have done several inventory adjustments & each time we have to go look up the cost & enter it.
Shouldn't the system remember the last cost that was entered?
Do I have something checked wrong that it's not putting in the last cost or average last cost?
