Issue with Auto Generated Numbers for Customers
Hi everyone,
I have a question about Auto Generated Numbers. We did not have this turned on for years, but due to a recent change with our web platform, we needed to implement Auto Generated Numbers for our customer records.
To maintain consistency, we wanted to set the new format "CUS000000" to apply to existing records. I went to Auto-Generated Numbers and selected "Customers", added the prefix, and checked the update box. It took awhile, but it ran through all of the customer records. However, for some reason, not all records were updated with this new format. Some items remained as just the Company or Individual name for the Customer ID. Which records did or did not get updated appears to be somewhat random.
