Custom Transaction Detail Report Doesn't Equal Zero

My understanding is that the Custom Transaction Detail Report is a list of GL transactions. My reporting, being fun for a whole month, does not equal zero (i.e., my debits and credits don't fully offset). How is that possible? Am I running the report wrong?
