Change to Asset Type Lifetime with numerous existing assets

Our company has decided to change the asset lifetime of one of our asset types from 3 years to 15 years.

There are currently already a number of assets that have been depreciated as 3 years.

Can I just change the asset lifetime to 15 years and it would generate the associated corrections in the next depreciation run?
