Posting different Canada Tax code/Tax amounts to different GLs

edited Nov 6, 2025 12:52PM in Accounting / ERP 11 comments

In Canada, sales have multiple taxes, e.g., a 5% and a 9.975% rate. Different states have different tax types and rates. Sales transactions are via CSV imported into journals. Canadian Journal have to tax field on lines.
Journals for European subsidiaries have a Tax Rate and a Tax Amount field.
Journals for a Canadian subsidiary have both these fields removed by a script, regardless of the chosen entry form.
For reporting purposes, it is desired to account for the different tax rates and the amount to different Tax buckets.

Below is an example of an EU journal with a sale and two tax rates tied to it.

Many thanks in advance for your ideas and support!
