Recognize Revenue on Discounted Gift Certificate
During sale of gift certificate, a discount is applied. say 10 gift certificate with face value of 100 each are sold and 10% item discount is applied.
sales is 10 x 100=1000
discount is 100
net amount is 900.
When gift certificate authorization code is applied in another transaction, the face amount of 100 is recognized. Do you have suggestions on how to recognize only 90?
