Permission violation notifications for some users

I have received tickets from users who were able to perform certain tasks and now they are unable to (print a pdf PO, attach a file to a PO) and receive a permission violation notification even though the custom role has not changed. It also only impacts some users where some are unable to perform these tasks and some users can with the same role.
