In our setup both discounts taken and payments post to 'Accounts Receivable' so there is really no we can't use account as an option. Is there a way to get the discount taken amount (as shown on the application line) into a saved search without using the GL account is posts to?

Never mind-- it looks like the actual error was state/country mismatch as a number of our UK contacts were not using abbreviated state/township values...
