We have always been able to do this. Enter bills received after the period is closed with the correct invoice date, but with the current posting period. Since upgrading to 2011.2, this appears to be broken. Our accountant is adamant that she wants the correct date on invoices. Was this a change is 2011.2?

Thanks Evan, The problem I was having was I was trying to edit a field I had already created - when you do this the Source Filter by field is unavailable. I was able to fix the problem by deleting the field then recreating it.

I am trying to implement this but I'm not sure if it works the same after all of the new releases. I am unsure what to put in the source from field and the Source filter by option is unavailable. Can someone please update these instructions?

In a perfect world what I would like to do is create a custom button that changes the form, prints the record then changes the form back to the original form. Any ideas?

The only way I have found to crete the snapshot is to be able to customize the report. This button does not appear on the screen in the other role. Yes setting it to shipped does impact GL, what I don't understand is why when an order has NOT been set to shipped (therefore no GL impact) we cannot create the shipped record in the new open period...

Did the customer you wrote the script for lock their accounting periods? How did the script work around that? Right now if we try to edit the date without unlocking the period first we get a message that you can't move a transaction out of a closed period.

MHuffamn - we really need a high contrast option that has darker (black) field labels. We have several employees who have vision problems due to history of detached retinas.
