I have the same or similar issue. When I do a custom Sales by Item Summary I get an inflated total when I run the report for multiple months vs. one month. If I run each month individually the totals are fine. I have a case open and will update this when I find out what the great people at support have to say.

I have similar issues with cases, while we have made some of the items you have mentioned work, it’s not 100%. What we did was change the standard "Customer" field to Employee as the name, and added a script to filter only on Employees. Then we created a second field that is called "On Behalf Of" that links to the account…
