  • Has anyone found a way to remove the "-No Customer/Job-" and "-No Vendor- from the AR & AP Aging Reports? yes- in the filter field, set the name to "not empty" This should do the trick.
  • Is anyone out there interested in being able to run a report that will tell you what bin location(s) are associated with inventory items no matter whether the item has stock on hand or not? At the moment, you cannot run anything that gives the bin number if quantity on hand is zero. There is an enhancement that has been…
  • oh yeah, I forgot that. :o crap, I hate it when I do that. Sorry matt..... (been a while since I worked with bins-mine were fixed, remember?)
  • Steven, I have noticed the same thing about IE. I am using IE7 and have noticed it since the last MS update. Not sure what MS did but they did do something. Angela is a wonderful individual who has also helped me to understand the mechanics of bin management. (Thanks again, Angela) Matt Why thank you, matt-and my favorite…
  • wow angela.. this is whitepaper material :-) ! "How to implement Bins in Netsuite Correctly from the Start". How about " how NOT to implement bins that will then kick your %^^&"? I was an english major before I switched to finance. :D
  • Hi Angela, I would be very much interested in how you put things right as in an ideal world we would still like to use an automated bins management system. Many thanks Peter Be careful what you ask for Peter- its an ugly, difficult process. To understand the mess I had, here is a brief summary of what happened. The company…
  • I'd like to second Angela's insistence that fixing bin management demands more consistent and higher priority attention by NetSuite folks. While Angela is in the middle of it all, we are still on the periphery, having concluded for the moment that bin management is absolutely unworkable in practice for us. Again, the most…
  • Praying and squinting the eyes as hard as I can for a positive response! One of our warehouses is just about to do an entire bin renaming process, and I haven't had the guts to tell them what they have to do. Pretty please! Matt Oh Matt, I so feel for you. ALthough, if they just rename the bins, it isn't nearly as bad as…
  • as an FYI- I have found a residual issue with the way I had to clean up the bins. I had to create hundreds of Inventory adjustments. These adjustments seem to cause serious confusion when others are trying to pull reports and look into specific items. I am lucky, as I made all of these adjustments on a weekend, and took…
  • Angela, I have exactly the same problem with Bin Management that you do. For instance, I have items that have 27 quantity available but the bin shows I have 34. There seems no way to correct the bin count although the quantity available count is absolutely correct. I tried to go back to just a standard custom item field to…
  • In case anyone would like to see an update, I am speaking to tech support. It appears that in the upgrade, the server side scripting in ns is not picking up negative numbers from the bin field. It is defaulting the negative numbers to 0. This is causing the error and the inability to relieve quantities from Bins via an…

  • OK, I got a response from NS. It was, in summary, this is a new problem, file a new case. In a nutshell, I said NO. I was told that my Bin problem would be fixed with the upgrade. I was patient, I smoothed it over with my execs- who are pushing me to make it work, and now, here I am. To be fair here, the logic behind their…
  • Bins is high on our wish list, but a non-starter for us until NetSuite implements the ability to transfer inventory among bins. Last I knew, transferring inventory among bins required doing an inventory adjustment, which: - is not a transaction type I want my line warehouse workers to have access to - I can't afford to…
  • Brian, That is absolutely correct. Nice, huh? Kind of hard to continue to defend NS for me lately. They are wearing me down.....
  • Angela, I am extremely grateful for your posts here. We began using Bin Management almost from the beginning, Jan. 1, 2007. Everything was going good with the Bin Management until I turned on MLI. Wow!! The documentation for MLI is scarce at best. I read everything I could about it and "thought" that I was prepared for…
  • Angela, I have not tested removing from a bin... just changing the bin for an item which makes the bin automatically go to 0 and then adjusting the inventory to populate the new bin. However, what happens if you change the bin and save it which will cause the new bin to go to 0 and then put back the correct bin? That…
  • well if support says it cannot be done.... try the physical inventory worksheet manipulate it however you like, but last time I ran it, I added and displayed the bins (even multiple) it shows the zero on hand- if you don't want the zeros to show, you have to filter them out. good luck!
  • Thanks, steve, I appreciate your assistance. However, it seems my system does its own thing. For example, here is what I see from our recon Inventory adjustment for February. I removed 7 cables from inventory, but I still show as having 12 in one bin, 6 in another bin, but 9 on hand. This means that clearing them from…
  • Hi Malin, Lauretta and I have been in contact- thank you- awesome to work with her again. We worked on this issue of mine yesterday. She told me that she cannot reproduce this, even when trying to test in my environment. Via a Webex, I showed her that this is still happening, gave her several fulfillment records from our…
  • Is there a way to default the account to a different account instead of checking on a cash sales form that the credit card deposits to? If you are trying to change the account for the credit card transactions, it is in setup-setupcreditcards.
  • Now you're just rubbing my nose in it for fun aren't you? :( Matt Awww, matt, not me. I feel for you, but dont forget all the work it took me to fix the stupid things.:D
  • but Brian, it is as designed, and as you may know- NS is always right [right there with you frustrated beyond belief today-can you tell?]
  • Wow...!! Thanks for that Angela - certainly something to be aware of! I'm going to pass this post round the team here! Peter Glad someone can benefit, as a side note, just finished the physical count for Q1- other than the normal chaos around here (testing - scanning and automating the count) I was really impressed with…
  • We are currently working on implementing the ERP side of NetSuite and very much wanted bins to be part of that implementation. During set-up and testing we have also come across the same sort of problems as Angela, where we changed the way the bins were organised and caused real havoc with the stock counts. The longer this…
  • When we were using bins we had the same issue of the bin qty not matching the location qty. To fix it I went into the item fullfillments that were blank and put the bin number in and this fixed the issue. Time consuming but works! No way I can do this- the volume is too big. This is not an acceptable fix. As far as the…
  • Peter- I expect to have whipped this later today..... kind of stunned myself.... Well, I did it. It took me more than 300 adjustments. was not easy- as the prices were not always the same, throwing me out of balance. Took me HOURS- most of the weekend, as well as most of today. I think I actually have these working 100%…
  • Good Morning, Brian, In all fairness, the Bins are very close to working well. However, the approach to implementation is the key here. We use serialized inventory, and when we began using bins, we did so with the approach that Bins should be units of measure dictated by design. For example, a set of shelves as one bin,…
  • Angela, Thanks for your post. We are aware of some holes in the implementation of bin management, and we will be addressing them in a future release. There are currently workflows that are specifically designed to move items from one bin to another. You can, however, use an inventory adjustment to accomplish this. Simply…
  • Steve- There are two things your warhouse should know. #1, if an inventory item has use bins checked, and there is a preferred bin, the preferred bin will autopopulate when fulfilling. A little planning and work on the item maintenance side will go a long way on a busy shipping day. #2 If your bins are out of balance, for…
