My Stuff
Hello Community! Josh Maxwell, a User Experience Researcher for NetSuite Foundation has fun a question for you. Imagine for a moment that NetSuite had an assistant like Alexa or Siri. What would you ask of your NetSuite assistant? Use this survey link to share your top questions to the assistant.
Here are some examples to get your creative juices flowing.
"Did I pay vendor John Doe last month?"
"Take me to my largest sales order for this month."
"What invoices haven't been paid yet?"

@Veronica Steluta-Oracle Thanks. I see that now. I have a lot of concerns still, but I see things are happening there which was my main question. Thanks for sharing.
-
who are people on the product team? do you talk to them? is there a list of suiteideas 'enhancements' by popularity and any status report on progress toward resolution?
-
Hopefully someone will improve those error messages. Based on my experience with SuiteIdeas, the "enhancements" are ignored. I was on the Admin meet and greet last week and none of the experts on the call had even heard of SuiteIdeas or the enhancements list. So I'm not sure where your training comes from, but unless there…

Full answer is this: Go to the form and edit the Template (OCF New Customer 1 in the example below) to include the field. To include the field, call it NLfieldid. So if the field id is "file" then the tag would be NLFILE. to put in the HTML, it would be <NLFILE></NLFILE>. If a tag like this is not found, netsuite will…

@Vernita it's a custom report on customer activity. Yes, I want to have call, multimedia, etc. And yes, I would expect one line for each rather than one line total. As it stands, they aren't grouped by week. The data is MSI>Interaction>Date. So I think there would be one line for each MSI+Interaction combination connecting…
-
yes. I'll check the template. thanks. this is bad policy all the oracle people do. I understand it's not a choice. hopefully there can be more internal discussion to stop that. the contentless hellos are not good.
-
@Veronica Steluta-Oracle please stop messaging me if you don't have an answer. I'm sorry this bothers me so much, but it seems selfish and unhelpful to post a purely administrative and unhelpful post that pings my email and doesn't answer the question. Why do you do it?
-
I have learning pass. 'charts' is a bit of a broad topic though. as for context of data, you have every field and data type I want to use. but maybe someone else could help.
-
@Mark Derrick Great. Is File the right field to allow the user to upload? I assume yes, but I can't test because of a new error. If I use the File field, it says missing required field NLFILE when I try to save. Possibly related, if I try to save the Form with the Web Address field, it says NLURL missing. How do I resolve…
-
This sounds right. It might just be an old customization. I think we're ok for now. I'll drop back in if something new comes up. Thanks.
-
@Mark Derrick you said 'adding files to marketing forms'. What is the path to find the forms you're creating? Also, is this marketing form something you're sending out or something on the site that the customer uploads too? I need site visitors to upload files, not download.

Seeing this request for Online Customer Form attachments from 2011, Enhancement 68629. I didn't find that Enhancement in SuiteIdeas. Does it still exist? Has it been addressed? @Elychelle Gulen-Oracle If anyone knows, why is it possible for Cases not for Customers?
-
I think that's close. I can edit IDs if I set Allow Override = True in Auto-Generated Numbers. That's good info. I don't necessarily want to do that, but it's a good option. Follow-up question: Some records, in our example above, are in format C1330:5614 and some just like C2241. Both are child customers (to C1330).…
-
I think you're correct. The first one does have ID C1330:5614, and C2241 for the second. How can I change the ID? It doesn't seem to be editable? Would it work to Create a new record and merge it? Is there a better way to directly edit the ID?
-
Editing in the list view worked. I'd still like to know why there's a bug in the normal process...
-
It's in global search in the NAME/ID field. And a given company will have the same result. But if I have a list of 10 child companies, some will be one format, and some will be the other format.

Thanks for responding. There's nothing much to see. I did confirm I'm in the Employee record, both the subordinate and the supervisor have Subsidiaries entered (we just have 1). When I enter the supervisor in the supervisor field and hit save, I get the New User Request screen. And regardless what I enter, I get the 'enter…

I love everything about this forum except Oracle policies like unnecessary responses and calling bugs 'enhancements'. Who can I talk to about ending this policy of responding to a message for no reason? It's distracting and irritating. I want to stop complaining about it. I'm sure you want to stop hearing about it. Why…
-
thanks but why don't you link me directly to this page. Is that possible? Sending me two other links for how it works is still a barrier to actually participating in the process. It seems like pasting the link instead of the page name would be just as quick for you too. Enhancement # - 137531 : Lead/Customer Record >…
-
ok. standard response: this is a bug not an enhancement. and if you want to facilitate user engagement, please provide links not just numbers. I can never find these.
-
Please explain how your message helps anything. All it does is fill my inbox and have me come here thinking there's an answer and being disappointed. Update: Actually I get two emails because even Netsuite also gets confused by these extra messages.
-
Saved Search doesn't seem to have an If statement. I didn't miss it did I? However it does have a CASE statement which functions like an IF. I'll probably use that. (for the record, this is one of the first things I've reported that might be considered an enhancement instead of a bug.)
-
That's good. thanks. That should help. The more I look at it. I think I might have the wrong table. I want just messages and just activities (two different results). I found the Activities and Message tables in New Saved Search. I think I can go from there and get what I need. All ok for now.
-
nevermind. normally oracle folks respond. thanks.
-
disappointing. it's pretty useless without the hierarchy. thanks anyway. please submit a bug fix request.
-
I don't understand the question. I think you're thinking the options aren't showing up. All of the class options are showing up. But all I see is the class itself, not class with hierarchy. Maybe take another look at my last question if that helps.
-
Thanks for the response. I could choose multi-select, but the issue is I'm getting the name/id only but no hierarchy so I have have cases:premium, inserts:premium, cases:standard, inserts:standard as classes with hierarchy, the list only has premium, premium, standard, standard. How can I get a multi-select with hierarchy?
-
It's important to be aware this is confusing and creates a duplicate record and confusion that has to be manually fixed later. I hope netsuite will remove this functionality and at least ensure everyone knows how to work around it.
-
Thanks for looking, but I don't think you've understood what I'm asking for. But in case anyone visits this thread looking for information, below is the best procedure to resolve the confusion created by the creation of 'phantom' Leads for contacts with invalid companies: 1) record all the information with a saved search…
-
I confirmed they are definitely tied together. If I change the Contact field on the Contact, it changes the Lead ID field in the Lead.
