I think it would be beneficial to add this functionality. I've had customers request it. So custom duty roles don't do anything. You can't map it to a subject area. Also I tried to create a custom data role, but it didn't work. I used the functional group: NAW_DATA_SEC. I don't know of any resources that list the…

I see. You created a Data role. That's what gives you the Security Configurations tab. However, this just filter rows within data (row-level security). It doesn't limit subject area access.

There is no "Security Configurations" option available, and Security Assignments are only valid on segments not subject areas. If you are referring to updating the Semantic Model Extension, I did that. I created an application role, edited the Security Configurations so that only Cash Sales was Default and all other areas…
