Hello Community! Josh Maxwell, a User Experience Researcher for NetSuite Foundation has fun a question for you. Imagine for a moment that NetSuite had an assistant like Alexa or Siri. What would you ask of your NetSuite assistant? Use this survey link to share your top questions to the assistant.
Here are some examples to get your creative juices flowing.
"Did I pay vendor John Doe last month?"
"Take me to my largest sales order for this month."
"What invoices haven't been paid yet?"

Given how often Enhancement Requests are referenced in discussions, it might also be nice have a place that tracks progress/action taken on recently-referenced Enhancement Requests.

Thank you for your reply, Leonard. The API environment I'm using to link NetSuite to our marketing platform can access any record types NetSuite has made available. Currently this includes almost every record type listed when making a New Saved Search (including custom record types I have made). One exception, however, is…

SO SORRY! Please disregard my latest update. I was neglecting to factor in another unique results column I had. After making that change, my results are coming through EXACTLY as I need them! Thank you, thank you!
-
@Ivy Lopez-Oracle and @Dominica Sevilla-Oracle , THANK YOU! These are both very helpful insights. I have leveraged the NS_CONCAT({item}) formula in a Maximum summary row per Ivy's suggestion and it is working as expected. However, I am hoping to see the Item, Item Name and Product Type columns similarly consolidated. Is…

Oh, of course! I forget about that overhead setting of the Configuration field. Thank you so much, John! That should do the trick.
-
Thank you @JohnCirocco . However, it seems that the "Value" field is expecting something in the short date format. Do you know of a way to enter a formula of some kind (similarly to setting up a Criteria row in a Saved Search)? Regardless, thanks again for your insights! Sincerely, -Tim-

Thank you, @Dominica Sevilla-Oracle .

Thank you for checking into this and for your reply, @Dominica Sevilla-Oracle . It appears I also cannot reference the External ID field from a "Set Field Value" action within a Workflow. That being the case, could you direct me to NetSuite's recommended option(s) for this? Thanks again, -Tim-
-
Thank you for your answer @Jack Daryl Espiel-Oracle . I'm afraid Scripts are still a bit outside my skill set, but I appreciate the insight. Since we aren't using NetSuite Calendars for anything else at this time, I believe we can simply mark these Events as "Private" and have the sales team set up Private iCal shares in…

Thank you for your reply, Ivy. That is what I was looking for and I do see it in the Item Fulfillment now. To be clear, is the screenshot you shared from an Item Fulfillment record? If there would be a way to get that onto the Sales Order's Inventory Detail window as well, I would certainly like that. However, I believe…

Non-issue. I was doing it wrong. ?

Thank you, Patrick. I'm afraid I'm unable to find this Enhancement. 62992 or a search for "Provide ability to update project" yields no results in SuiteIdeas. Could you possibly provide a direct link? Thanks again, -Tim-

Thank you, @Micah Timbol-Oracle . It's not the functionality I would have hoped for, but I'm grateful to at least know what is required. Logging an Expense (particularly one that requires some kind of photo capture of the receipt) within the mobile app is quite intuitive and very convenient, but submitting a Report from…

Hello, @Micah Timbol-Oracle and thank you for suggestion. I'm afraid this does not appear to be a permissions-based error. I have verified that the relevant roles have appropriate permissions to the Expense Report record. Mobile App functionality would suggest that the "Expense" record is a stand-alone record in much the…

Hi, @Joanna Roman . I have finished a very similar workflow in my environment. If it is not critical to have this field populate in real-time, as the employee enters their time, a Scheduled Time record workflow can be used to fill in a Custom Field like this. From what I found neither Client nor Server-side triggers for a…

Hello, @Harris - Amba Products . I'm unsure if this is still relevant, but had a moment to browse some of the Unanswered Questions here in the forum and thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. If you haven't already, I would suggest removing the Saved Search Conditions from your Action. Because those conditions are already…

Thank you very much for the insight. I'll add my name to the list of proponents for such an enhancement.

YES!!! That did the trick! Thank you so much, @Emilia Ironov-Oracle ! The Billable field is now available and even checked by default for Time Entries on Time and Materials Projects. I'm surprised that, in all of my Help file digging, this Features field was never mentioned. I'm SO grateful for this forum and your stellar…

Interestingly, I did just notice that the employee records in this account do not include the "Time Tracking" subtab - despite it being set to "Show" in the preferred Entity Form: I've been making time entries either from the Time Tracking Sublist within the Resources subtab of Project record or from the Employee Center:
-
The only Time Entry form is the Standard Form. When I review the available Fields (for the screenshots above) it takes me to a Custom Form page, but I have not customized this form. Screenshot below is from the Customization > Forms > Entry Forms screen .
-
I was hoping that would be the case, but I'm afraid Billable is not an option:
-
Thanks again, @Michelle Jabanes-Oracle ! The feature was enabled, but the standard Time Entry form does not have a Billable checkmark, nor does it appear the field is simply hidden in the form's configuration. It's got me stumped. :-) Are there any other features or modules that would squelch the option to enter Billable…
-
Thank you, @Michelle Jabanes-Oracle . I am seeing this: Might there be another reason, then, that I am unable to see any options to set Time Tracks on Project Tasks as "Billable?" I feel like it must either be systemic (a simple "Enable Features" setting or something) or that I've failed to configure a Project, Customer or…

Thanks, everyone for your replies here! I apologize for my silence these past days as I've had my head down focusing on other tasks. I REALLY appreciate your helpful insights!
-
Thank you, Ivy. I've marked your reply as the answer for now. Of course, until the enhancements materialize, if you are a reader who has found a workaround or creative solution for this, I would love to hear about it! -Tim-

Hi, Mikko, and thank you for your reply. I actually think I just figured it out! This simple adjustment returns only the am or pm value of the time field: TO_CHAR({fieldID}, 'am') Hopefully someone else finds this helpful somewhere down the line!
-
Hello, Ivy, and THANK YOU! I figured it must be something simple. The bill was, in fact, in a closed period, which explains the limited options. Thanks again for the insight! -Tim-
-
Thank you both, Mik and Chance! These solutions will both save me a lot of "Excel acrobatics" in the future! Chance, I'm particularly excited about your solution to target the ID directly in the search and use it for Field Mapping from the start. Thank you for that suggestion and formula. This is a solution I expect I can…

Thank you @Micah Timbol-Oracle. For example, I want to import a new group of Items we have been testing in Sandbox into our Production environment. To do this, I create a Saved Item Search in the Sandbox that includes the necessary fields for these Items: Item Name/Number Sales Description Income Account COGS Account Base…

Thank you for your replies, gentlemen. Chance, you're exactly right. At this point I'm only concerned about 1 level of Parent : Child relationship. Ultimately, however, even the Parents display with a name-only format in a Saved Search. All I can do with that data is export another COA excel file, run a vlookup between the…
