Correct. You can never change a subsidiary or a Netsuite account Base Currency.
-
Thanks. So your clients paid Netsuite to do that? We do filter by Location on reports, but more so in inventory area than finance. I do not believe removing the 50 location cap has any fees attached to it.
-
There no perfect work-around, but I can think of two things - One option would be to make disjoined POs and SOs, which would leave you free to use whatever currency you like. The big downside is, of course, you lose all of the Interco functionality such as the verifications to ensure transactions match, and the ability to…

Hello, We have made many OneWorld implementations, big and small. The documentation for OneWorld is pretty good. Of course, it can't state everything so there are "gotchas" which are not documentated, or not explicitly stated. However, the biggest challenge, BY FAR, is implementing OneWorld, not running it - but that holds…
-
That's a pretty good list, yeah. In other words, is it possible to buy OneWorld, get it activated/upgraded, then do all the other work myself? I believe this is true. Now, I do this for a living, so I see a lot of implementations. Every single one I've ever seen, had the customer not hired us, would have taken at least 3…

Interesting. I think you should send this as a question to NS Support, but do post the answer back. I'll be very interested to know what the answer is.
-
Mmm, sounds like you should file a Case with NS Support for this.
-
I'm not sure I understand this. why would your inventory be eliminated in the first place? That would not happen with the Auto-elim feature.
-
Interco Transfer Orders vs Interco Transactions - the Transfer Orders will move your stock just fine, but the accounting side will be different. The Transfer Orders use set system account you can't change and do not offer the possibility of auto-eliminating. Interco SO/PO offer more flexibility in regards tot rhe accounts…

Not sure, I'm paraphrasing from memory. I just rememeber conversations with the NS engineering team and I remember one thing they said was that the Location dropdown on reports is one place that deals badly too many locations. How exactly this "deals badly" manifests I can't recall. Unable to use that footer filter at all?…
-
Nope, you are basically correct. No shortcuts.
-
Thanks for the update!

I believe 100 is the soft limit. You can request to have the limit removed. The point at which you'd see performance issues, if any, is based on many factors. A discussion with Ns can help you understand risks. I know of accounts that have thousands of locations.
-
Ah, thats a very good question. Honestly, the auto-elimination functionality is not done. And to NS's credit, I think they're fairly up-front about this. However, the most important thing about the auto-elimination feature is that it is the basic infrastructure for an entire interco functionality. So my opinion is that you…

That is probably your best bet. Take their month end closing balance and import it as a Journal. The first month will be simple, but the subsequent months remember to only import the delta (either that or reverse last month's balance and import this month's balance).
-
We've had several clients remove the 50 location cap. It hasn't caused any problems that I'm aware of. I've been told the reason NS is especially wary of removing the cap is financial reports. At the bottom, you can filter by Location. Apparently that feature is the most likely to not work properly when you remove the cap,…

Hmm, good one. I would pick the one that reflects the most closely reality. Do the area franchisees operate each franchise as seperate legal entities, or are they considered divisions of a single company?
-
LPP is per-location in normal Netsuite as well. All subsidiaries must have a location.
-
Auto-Elimination, and everything that goes around it (so all thing Interco) is a fairly complex topic. I highly suggest you head on over to Support->SuiteAnswers, and search on the term "intercompany", and then check out the videos. In particular, here are some links which I hope will link properly -…

If you have Inventory, then no, Location only belongs to a single Subsidiary. If you don't have inventory, then Location is a classification at the same level Department and Class are, and so can be multi-sub.
-
Oh yeah, one thing crossed my mind at some point - In your opening post you mention you're in a partial ownership situation. OW doesn't deal with partial ownership very well when it comes to pulling financial records. If you only want to report on say the profit for your part of the company, you'd need to manually…

7. Can the financial statements of all entities, or specific entities be consolidated to one. A: I don't believe so, no. You could achieve this with a script though. 9. Will users at our group office need more than one user to access the entities. A: No 14. Is access given to roles or users, and is it just a case of you…
-
You'll have to eliminate yourself. Note that OneWorld is not recommended for cases of partial ownership. See "Account Setup : Account Setup : Getting Started with OneWorld : Understanding NetSuite OneWorld" for the document note to that effect.
-
Netsuite can "convert" or "promote" an instance into a root parent OneWold account. My understanding is that this simply cannot be done for Subsidiaries due to technical limitations. You can ask your sales rep to be sure, but I believe that is how it is. You will have to perform a regular data migration to import your…

CTA-E will occur whenever there is a difference between the two side being eliminated. Most commonly this is the result of currency exchange rate differences. Inventory Asset accounts are asset accounts, so I'm not sure I follow your second question
-
Well, if your accounting team says you only need one, then you only need one. However, elimination subs are free, so there's little reason you wouldn't set them up at each tier just to be safe, should you ever need them.
-
That depends entirely on your current Netsuite account. I daresay we did the worst possible scenario for a customer - 2 Netsuite accounts, one CAD one USD, each with multiple Departments used to identify companies. It was many, many hours, though through diligent effort it worked out very well at the end. Then you have the…

You're in luck, I'm waiting for a CSV import to finish so had a few spare minutes :) I fired up a OW demo account and tested this out. Of course, I realized I should have known the answer all along! Last Purchase Price (LPP) and average cost (which drives COGS) are kept per-location. Locations are hard-coded to be…

Yeah, the UG swallowed my last post. There was an error after I posted. I'm glad you got it by email though!! Access to subsidiaries is can be granted by Role or by user. On each Employee record, there is a mandatory Subsidiary field. Basically, this means an employee "belongs" to one and only one subsidiary - think of it…

1. Is one World a “bolt on” that allows you to see multiple Standard NetSuite accounts under one umbrella account, or is it one account where you can create separate entities with in it? A: It is one account with multiple subsidiaries in it. It basically adds the "Subsidiary" field on most records, which tags GL impacts to…
