Just a bit of follow-up on this thread, it appears that the change that broke the functionality outlined in the original post has been rolled back by NetSuite and the revaluation of manufacturing expenses now functions as it always has.

@Jam Amper-Oracle If the problem that NetSuite saw is that gl impacts were being updated in closed periods, then sure, do not update impacts closed work orders in closed periods. But what we have here are situations where it is impossible to have accurate manufacturing charge item costs until well after a work order should…

@User_IONK0 We are running into this exact issue, but NetSuite support said that this was an intended change in functionality, but has been unable to point to any specific documentation of it. Did you get a different response from them, or found a way around this?
