In Googles advice to webmasters it says that you should not present different content to the Google bot. I wonder if Google is crawling pages and not declaring its user agent as Google bot, recognising that the content is different and then penalising us because if it.

I am not convinced by this reply, according to Google we are now down to 2600 pages indexed. This is about 1/3 the number of pages our site has. The number continues to fall and so are our orders.

Is this affecting anyone else? Every day we are loosing pages from Google. We have no dropped to 3300 pages indexed. Before the release of 2009.1 we had 5500 pages indexed. This is an utter disaster for us we are reliant upon Google for our business.

I think I know your problem. When you make a new category and if you then add sub categories to that category the category remains empty. No it is an inventory item. I have not tried any other customs fields or items as I was just testing. When I can get it to work I can re-design the templates, but I cannot and I really don't understand why.

2008.2 that's what we need for the same reason. No one told us when we set up the site that the default would be the base price, so we have our trade prices set as Base Price and it is really difficult to correct the problem. Does 2008.2 allow us to set "Ship Complete" as default=yes ?

Which field and on what tab do we change. I have tried and tried but it looks to me like this particular field is HARD WIRED to say TAX.

Yes I am aware of that and I do not think it should do that as I believe it will annoy customers. I find it irritating and I don't see why the system should irritate customers.
