Doing a bit more digging, it seems that the 'Approved for Posting' etc. is (unsurprisingly) the 'Approval Status' field. There is still a one to one correspondence between the type ('Currency Revaluation' or 'Transfer') and whether the 'Approval Status' field is null or unset so I can't tell which is causing which.
