Thank you so much for your advise. I was able to try this tonight but it did not work. Here is what I have now. Here is the workflow log. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

I did look at the other scripts and workflows running on the SO record and there is nothing I see that would force it to close after lines are added.

I do not need to see the item fulfillment on the invoice I only want to see it on the sales order screen. Would that require scripting as well?
