• Should I open a case? Might these be looked at?
• Is this true if there are only purchase transactions? The item in question has never been sold, only purchased. It seems that the Income Account would never actually be used in this case and therefore I should be able to clear the Income Account.
• Our concept of a kit that exists in inventory is an Assembly item. As John points out, kits are meant to be thrown together at the time of fulfillment. Sorry about that Steve. Thanks for the reply Tom. I think I understand the intention of a Kit, as I said in my reply to John it's a utility item. I still don't see why they…
• Hi Nick, That's a good idea for a workaround. I'm not thrilled about using classes for this (or departments) but if there is no other way then I just may need to look into this! Thanks for the suggestion.
• Steve, In the mean time, you should be able to clear the Income Account field if you have never sold this item. When you save, you will get a warning, but just click OK. HTH. Hey Jim, yeah, I agree it should be possible but it's not allowing me. When I click OK to the warning it blocks the submit operation. :o
• Hey Steve, I thought I understood problem from post header but I might be wrong because whats discussed seems off. Matrix items - where I have a parent item and children - on customers invoice and on purchase orders (basically where ever item is displayed) shows up with parent item:then children The way I have removed…
• Evan, support got back with a very detailed response but unfortunatly it contained this: “Currently, the system does not allow us to remove the income account for an item that already has transactions, as this would affect the GL Impact. However, we are allowed to change the account.” This seems to contradict your…
• In my test account I definitely have items with no sales account and that therefore don't show up. Where is it making you set an account? On the item entry page? This does not work anymore. I just created a brand New Inventory item and explicitly cleared the income account and after it was saved it was back. Are we talking…
• This is what I'm faced with right now as well. Brand new Inventory Item that I don't want to show on Sales Transactions and I can't clear the Income Account field. This should not be this difficult. We need an "Include in Sales Transactions" field for Item records. Easy.
• Please file a defect case and we will take a look. Please post the issue # here when you receive it. Thanks, -e I had to leave this issue to tend to something else, however I just encountered it again and entered a case. Your Customer Care Case # is 848406. When I get a defect (although I imagine it will take some time to…
• I have items without income account as well and they work fine. The problem I'm having is that I have a parent item that has an income account and when I edit it to remove the income account it doesn't accept the edit. Well... it accepts it I suppose, but defaults to the same income account that was set before. The same…
• Turns out this isn't possible. Hopefully this will help someone else avoid wasting time on this issue. Unfortunately for me this makes it impossible to use the Matrix feature. One more instance of a prohibitive feature limitation.
• I realize this is an old thread, but for the benefit of anyone who comes across it I thought I would add my experiences related to this. I've been reading, planning, testing, reading, testing, etc. ;) I had been testing with existing items that have transaction history so the averages and costing was the result of many…
• We are a field service business that needs to track onsite equipment at client sites. Does the barcoding module allow us to capture data about that equipment and store it in NS? We need this information to be available each time a technician attends the site to see the history. Is this possible? Also not sure about a…
• Hi nukent, Do you see the save & print labels button on the item fulfillment page? Are you seeing a specific message when you tried to print the labels? What is the message? I see it now, yes. As someone who has been shipping in NetSuite for 3+ years I can't possibly imagine why NetSuite would CHANGE the way this process…
• Can you be more specific? can't print the the shipping label that is generated from the fulfillment. On sales order fulfillments we have a multi-button (Print|Print Label) and maybe one other option. On the V-RMA fulfillment there is no such option. I thought maybe I needed to go to the Print Checks and Forms list to do it…
• Still can't print shipping labels. Oh, you can create them but you can't print them.
• Wow, I just read this thread after encountering the same problems myself. What an abysmal failure this is!!
• ... The "Ship Vendor Returns" has never been able to print the UPS/etc shipping label.... generates a new tracking number just fine.... but impossible to print the label. I think this is the major point of frustration. Yes, exactly. Thank you for explaining that so well... I was a.... "frustrated before" :)
• I just stumbled upon a way to force a calculation sooner. There is a "sub button" on the Setup > Accounting > Inventory Management Preferences that will Submit & Calculate. From the help: Note: You can click Submit and Calculate from the Save button on this page to perform a one-time calculation of inventory metrics. This…
• There are a few changes in 2007.0 e.g. you can set a preferred day for calculation (which is weekly). Thanks, -e Evan, is there no way to trigger an immediate recalculation? It can make learning and adjusting tough if we need to wait a week between changes. Weekly seems awfully long, we order some items weekly so our…
• I was just about to post a thread on this topic when I saw this one. I just had to enter 5 separate item receipts records because of this pointless limitation. Not too happy about that. When will these be fixed? Is it fixed in version 2007?
• If this feature DID get attention, hopefully it also received:

The ability to customize the form/record
SuiteScript support
SuiteTalk support
• Unfortunately not. It is partially complete and we are looking at trying to get it ready for 2009.1 Thanks, -e Hows that 2009.1 effort going? I'm at the point where I need to create my own custom solution or I can wait if I know it's coming. Thanks.
• Hello all, got a question that i hope you can help me with. I have a product that is a package of 3 products. At first the Kit/Package idea should fit perfectly. However, I'm not selling those Kit/Package as fixed or prepacked; meaning i need to let the customers choose the 3 products combination, probably via a dropdown,…
• Thanks for the info Evan. I think this will work for us, we have a DBA that is very similar to the parent. The main goal is to separate accounts (in preparation for spinning the DBA off from the parent into it's own entity), maintain separate items, etc. This sounds like it will work well for us. Do you know if this will…
• multi-org What is this? Is it what it sounds like? Multiple companies under one account? Please say this is true :0)
• An assembly is really intended for something that you stock that is assembled from raw materials and sold as a finished product. If you don't want to have a list of assemblies like: ItemA-Red-Blk-Grn ItemA-Red-Org-Grn ItemA-Red-Ylw-Grn ..etc I think you would need to sell a kit with options, then at fulfillment you would…
• Did you have any of this item in stock prior to turning on multi-location inventory, and if so, did you create an Inventory Distribution to put those units into your one location? If not, any transactions created with that item (after turning on MLI) wouldn't affect your location's inventory, even if you selected the…
• Sometimes the obvious needs stating, but lucky for me not in this case :o I am looking at the correct location, it's just plain not working. I called NetSuite again to really drive home to them just how bad this is for us right now. They said I'm not the only person that reported it. I just hope they have it solved real…
