I've been asking about this for years! What would be better than getting this weird email address is if Netsuite used some standard model for these addresses. For example, CaseXXXXAcctyYYYYY@cases.netsuite.com where XXXX is the case number and YYYYY is your Netsuite account number.

I agree that cases need to be unique to a Netsuite customer. That's why I had the account number also in the formulation of the email address (case#_Acct#@cases.netsuite.com). We do not want to automatically send emails to customers when cases are created or updated. However, we do want to use the "reply" window when appropriate and send the customer an email. Can we use a custom template for the replies? Where do we set that option?

The process described in the help note had you select an account as the criteria (which just happens to be a bank account in the example). I did file a "question" ticket on this issue and they set it up as an "enhancement'. I then sent back a reply that said I think this is a bug, but no response. This was my case 660811 which has been set-up as enhancement 137389.

We found that promotional URLs do not solve the issue. They allow you to use your own URL to get to the form, but once you're on the form, you can still see the long Netsuite URL. In addition, we found that promotional URLs only work for online customer forms and online case forms - not for online forms for custom records.…

Unfortunately, I don't host my website on Netsuite and don't pay for the Sitebuilder add-on. I just find it surprising that they go to great lengths to remove the Netsuite branding from the customer center and still leave the netsuite URLs!
