Thank you, but this doesn't book the material consumed to R&D expense directly. For the inventory distribution, we can book to R&D expense account. Isn't it?

Our company has parent company, under it, has subsidiary A and B. We have location 1 for both Sub A and B. Sub A has items. Now I am thinking to create a new location R&D. Using Inventory distribution to distribution items under A and location 1 to R&D location, then utilize the variance account to book to R&D exp.…

Under parent ID does not work, as inventory is under one of the subsidiary we only have one location for the parent and subsidiary. We want to use this function to issue inventory for R&D project purpose so it can hit R&D expense account. Any other suggestions? Thanks,
