Evan, Do AfterSubmit events fire for custom records when they are modified using Inline Editing on a saved search? I am not seeing this behavior and I need confirmation before I submit a case to support. Thanks. Sounds like you have a bug, based on what I'm reading here. The client actions (before user edit, before field…

You can create a custom version of the screen and hide the workflow tab, then assign that to each role. True, but that's not an acceptable solution.
-
It is not necessary for you to comprehensively all the cases. If you can report a single inconsistency we'll make sure our QA team tests all cases. Thanks, -e Sometimes, yes. I reported inconsistency and they came back with:We received a feedback from our QA team that this is not a bug and also not a workflow manager…

Seems to be working well. However, for some reason, it doesn't do anything if the field in Old Record was blank and the field is then populated or vice versa. Kinda weird since NULL is not equal to NOT NULL.

I realized this is a bigger problem. I can't prevent users from doing "direct list edits" unless I turn off the option across the board. The feature is turned on/off by a checkbox in Enable Features. There is an enhancement request that's close enough to do what I want, though I'd love also the option to set it in role…

Ok, so what is it that's not acceptable about the solution? What is it your trying to do? Having to manage an additional form when we have multiple scripts of various types already running on the one form would be a headache. In my opinion, it would make a lot of sense to have a List permission, much like Notes Tab, that…

I also entered an ER request to expose Name and Description fields on the Actions list on a State. I haven't received the ER# yet, but here is a mockup of what I would like to see (supplied with the ER request to NS): http://picasaweb.google.com/SteveKlett/NSUGStuff#5520500330274911234 Nice! That definitely helps. Let me…

Voted. Workflow could use some way to better organize actions and transitions, et al. I find myself getting lost when I have more than ~10 actions, for example; they all look too similar.
-
Perhaps we could request that as an enhancement. Or defect. :p

I reported to support that the "Message" (AKA "Notes") field was not supported on the CreateRecord Action for Task records. In other words, you can Create a Task but you can't tell anyone what they are supposed to do in that Task (beyond the title of course). "Please do this" "What should I do?" "I can't tell you!!" Quiz:…

This looks similar to: Defect 185869 Workflow Manager -- Changing a field display type from Hidden/Inline to Normal is failing using action = Set Field Display Type Correct. That's the defect to which they attached my case. Thanks.

In case you get back in here, Evan... The Netsuite Help Center suggests using Before Record Load "If you want to lock the record or set a field to disabled, hidden, or mandatory before the user accesses the record." The chart showing which actions are available for each trigger shows "set display type" can be done in…

That might work for some, but in our business processes, I as the adminstrator, am the only person that does sales orders as there is an review and approval process and I do not know the win/loss reason. Additionally, if the business is lost, there is not going to be a sales order. Thanks for the ideas though. Any input is…
-
Would it be reasonable or possible to put a Win/Loss Reason field on the sales order that's mandatory when it's created from a quote? Maybe it could source any value from the quote but, if the quote's field is blank, populate the quote with whatever is entered into the sales order after save. Make sense?
-
Thanks, Evan. I've got them working on it, though a workflow specialist wasn't available. :)
-
Hmm... it only worked that one time but won't hide and disappear repeatedly. Using those two actions you suggested and merely adding a third to then again hide the Reason field when "request new geo" is set to False results in Reason hiding before user edit (on load, kinda) but clicking the checkbox (True) doesn't show the…

Thanks Evan, that worked, but I am curious why it worked +1 Transitions are confusing to me, as well. Almost seems like it'd be easier to visualize if the transitions were visually more closely related to a state rather than appearing as a separate object. What I'm thinking of is a very subtle alteration but I can't…
-
Funky. That worked in my one test starting with a new case. Now you owe me an explanation of what "before user edit" is. :)
-
Try selecting the request new geo field in the client fields multi-select I did but forgot to include that in my description. I thought I was so thorough! :o
-
Thanks, Evan. I'll just explain with the "trigger" field and only one (of the 2 or 3 fields I need) to keep it simple. Trigger field Name: Request Geo Transfer? Type: Checkbox Default value: False/unchecked Subtab: Main Display Type: Normal Field acted upon Name: Reason for request Type: List/Record (Drop down with custom…

I'm not sure I understand the scenario. Are you saying your supervisor doesn't see the portlet at all? Or there's no link? Or it exists and he simply doesn't have any results? Screenshot would help.

Also in Austin. We've been planning to connect with local users but haven't quite done it. Maybe this old thread will do something good now. :)
