The first thing I check when this is the case is whether the Location value is set properly on your sales order transaction at the line level.
-
I think you're right CAndrews - I'm not sure what's causing it either, but my money is on the billing issue or something else. I don't necessarily think it's related to kits, if only because the last time I noticed the issue it was at a company I worked for where no Kit Items were used at all.
-
I remember the location issue! That's probably what I was thinking of. Bummer about the kits. They are at once a useful item type, but also cause so many problems.
-
Keep us posted.

I think I've come across that too in the distant past; from what I recall I had to remove that line and add a new one. I'm wondering also if switching the SO back to pending approval and then re-approving it would work - but both of these options require you to delete any associated transactions, which is a pain. It's…

Thanks for the follow-up CAndrews !

Yep, highly recommend Ozlink. There are probably other third parties out there as well who connect NS to your FedEx Shipping Software / etc, but I haven't used them. Ozlink's customer support is some of the best I've ever experienced. That said, I have set up a client before with the baked-in Shipping Label Integration…

The problem is that the available quantities are ever-changing, so in order to get a 'snapshot', you will need to have a search that emails you daily - and use those emails as said 'snapshot'; OR, you can create a custom column field that captures the available quantity *at the time the order came in*. This would give you…
-
Sounds like you may have Label Integration turned on...when you do that, it assumes that it is printing its own label and communicates with FedEx or UPS via the API to retrieve the live tracking number. If you are getting your tracking number by yourself separately (and printing labels separately), then I'd suggest turning…

Hi bdiebolt - There is no such setting. The way I've solved this in the past is via Workflow - you can create a custom workflow that will lock a sales order (action type is Lock Record), and you will want to select your criteria for the action to something like, "Status is Pending Fulfillment" or "Printed Picking Ticket is…
-
You could create a fulfillment off of the DS PO as soon as it's created and only mark it "Picked" - this will stop the items from showing on any warehouse fulfillment later on, and has zero accounting impact. I have done this at our company, it seems to work well. Another option is to leverage the preference to default to…

You should have access to a page called "Reallocate Items"; maybe this will help? The link is this for me: https://system.netsuite.com/app/accounting/transactions/reallocitems.nl, or you can search for the page by name and it should come up in Global Search.

Cheers, anytime!

How large is your operation Kurt? I've seen it done different ways, but I believe best practice to be (for a medium to large-sized warehouse with appropriate staff resources and decent supply chain so that orders aren't waiting on incoming goods to ship out): 1) Check in items per package against expected item receipts in…
-
Nope, that's right on. You can opt to not put bins on the receipt. The way I see it, the Item Receipt record is really stating that the inventory is "in the building". You don't know where you're going to put it yet - that's what the bin putaway worksheet is for. So, I like the idea of not choosing bin numbers on Item…

Thanks, @edmzap! I definitely appreciate the insight. The manual weight entry isn't a huge deal, but good to know that in your experience it couldn't be automated. Label printers I figured would be kind of a pain, but you're right in that that likely isn't NetSuite's fault - they're always a pain. We primarily use FedEx…
-
While not abundantly clear, it looks like there may be a difference in accounting impact / which account is posted to on the item receipt...I would have to look into it further, but try taking a look at the accounts affected by your Item Receipts that are created from Return Authorizations. Perhaps isolating to one…

The method I typically use is to create a saved search based off of Sales Orders, not off of Invoices/Cash Sales. When you start with the Sales Order, you can then reach out via joins to (1) the Item Fulfillment record, and (2) the Billing Transaction (Invoice/Cash Sale) record, and retrieve information from both places.…
-
I realize this may be a PITA of an answer, but it sounds like you might rather use Assembly Items perhaps? They can generate work orders from the sales order and then if components on the work order need to be special-ordered, that can be done.

Hi, did anyone manage to find a solution here? I am experiencing the same issue.
-
Hi YHendeles - I and my team can definitely assist with your requests if you are interested. Feel free to reach out to me directly via PM.

Wow this is excellent. Somehow I missed this originally as well.

Custom fields should automatically show in the schema in the table where you add them. Custom records become additional tables. I haven't found a consistent manner in which they appear to be named in the connect schema, but a quick "show all tables/fields" should display them.

Looking here: https://system.netsuite.com/help/helpcenter/en_US/srbrowser/Browser2016_1/odbc/record/transaction.html And here: https://system.netsuite.com/help/helpcenter/en_US/srbrowser/Browser2016_1/odbc/record/accountingperiod.html, It looks like you need to join the accounting_period_id field on transactions table with…
-
Ah, so it may seem that the "Other Custom Fields" do not show up in the schema? However, I have created a custom "other" field on the Department record, and that shows in my connect schema. So, this may be actually more specific and only doesn't apply to Address type records. I did try to create my own custom address field…

AFAIK, the ODBC connector does not include access to running saved searches, nor apparently even looking up metadata about them: https://system.netsuite.com/app/help/helpcenter.nl?fid=chapter_N752122.html
-
Haha, that's pretty cool! So, is accounting_period_id blank on sales order transactions? Looking now, I guess there is no "period" field on my SO form. Sort of makes sense, but also I can't see it hurting anything for them to have left it in for non-posting trans as well.

It is a subscription I believe.
