Do you realize there is a + button under Relationships that does this already? You can create Vendors, Partners, Customers and Other Name records. Ultimately they all end up tied together

Have you actually used the button? That's the actions it takes. If you have a sandbox try it there. Otherwise be careful in production and give it a shot. Expected Close date is a required field and to not use it would remove one of your key drivers of the reporting. What would be the business use of not having an expected close? You could just set it to default to one year out if its blowing up your sales forecasting.

Hi Pat. I recently added a workflow to our payment records for the same reason. You should be filtering Transactions and Sub Type as Customer Payment. In what context are you adding a Button?

What would be he intent of the lock? Saved Searches are the backbone of many lists and dashboard on tabs. Wouldn't your record always be locked?
