My Stuff
Hello Community! Josh Maxwell, a User Experience Researcher for NetSuite Foundation has fun a question for you. Imagine for a moment that NetSuite had an assistant like Alexa or Siri. What would you ask of your NetSuite assistant? Use this survey link to share your top questions to the assistant.
Here are some examples to get your creative juices flowing.
"Did I pay vendor John Doe last month?"
"Take me to my largest sales order for this month."
"What invoices haven't been paid yet?"

The problem with it being an other tax payable is that it will then stay in that field on the sales tax payment page forever. Unless there is a way to get it out of there without making a "payment". Because once you do it as a payment, the money goes right back into the vendor balance, which defeats the whole purpose.…

The only way that I know to do this is to change your Accounting settings (needs to be done by an Admin) Setup/Accounting/Accounting Preferences - in the first box (General Ledger) Select Aging Reports use Due date.
-
I have found the best way to get a report to look how I want is to actually do a search. I had a NetSuite support person help me set up the results so that it looks like an aging. You could add address, phone # and other info from the customer record as needed. It is a rather cumbersome search to set up, but works nicely.…

I just found out some information from CyberSource. You do have to send them an e-ticket if you want to select one of the three types of authorizations. They did clarify that you cannot simply do a reauth any more (well you can, but you will be subject to higher fees). You have to reverse the original auth within the time…
-
Thanks for the update. I called CyberSource several weeks ago, and they were supposed to get back to me. I will also try calling them again and let you know what I find out.
-
I have not heard anything from NetSuite or CyberSource on how to handle this. I did get that same notice, which is a relief. I am wondering how other companies are going to handle the need to do reversals and reauthorizations, etc. I also rec'd a notice on my credit card bill that Visa is implementing similar fees.
-
I did see that, but it doesn't seem to address the issue of what type of authorization will be submitted. If anyone has more detail I would appreciate it.

We have been using Cybersource for almost a year, with good results. There are a few things that could be better (isn't there always) but in general it works well. #1 - We don't use a NetSuite store, so I don't have much help there. #2 - Call your cybersource rep about the special characters, they can get the security team…
-
I have never rec'd an update either. I did not submit a case or anything since it luckily only happens rarely for us.
-
It seems like NetSuite used to do that for you. When we first started using NetSuite (about 3 years ago) I seem to remember that you didn't have to choose the card type. When you typed in the card #, NetSuite used to default to the correct credit card type.
-
If you are listed on as the person to be emailed, you can use the save and email function and it will email you the results right away. I have used this a few times to test scheduled searchs.

You have to edit the actual PO and change the custom form that is selected in the drop down list. If you don't see a drop down, you have to be sure that field is checked off to show in the setup/customization/transaction form (screen fields, main tab)
-
Sorry Evan, you are absolutely right. I was having a brain cramp yesterday. I had looked in our custom entity fields and decided since it wasn't there, we hadn't added them and that they must be standard fields that can be added to transaction forms. Today, now that my brain is slightly more awake, I realized that they…
-
Thanks Evan. I was afraid that was the only way to do this. I didn't want to create new fields that reference other fields. I was hoping that since you could add these same types of fields from the customer record onto sales orders, there would be an easier way to add them to a PO. It seems kind of strange that you can add…

Yes, on the unapplied credit memo form there is a refund button. If you hit this, you can either refund the credit card or create a check to mail.
-
Does anyone have any insight into this issue? I am still wondering what is the best thing to do.

The problem is not the actual items, it is shipping costs. As far as I can tell, shipping is either taxable or not taxable, I do not see how I can make the shipping charges in Vermont taxable and the shipping charges for California not taxable. If I enable advanced taxes, is there a lot of other set up that I need to do?…
-
While we are on the subject of CA sales tax, it would be nice if the tax items were not so vague. When you run the liability by tax item, there are a number of them that are just random initials, and there is no way to no which tax group they go in. And for our Vermont taxes, there are mulitple tax codes for the same tax…
-
This still requires a lot of manipulation of the data in order to get what you need. I had hoped there was a simpler way to do it. I have also noticed that you have to be careful about adding columns to standard reports, as it can change your totals.
-
Thanks for the help. If only they would have a single tax rate per state, and all states had the same rules on what was taxable, compliance would be so much easier. And I probably would no longer dread doing the sales tax every month.
-
That was what I was thinking I had to do, but I am confused on how to do it. It must be per customer, correct? The manufacturing exemption is pretty straightforward, they actually give you a % rate - so I can do 4.1875% less than their actual tax rate. We also have a customer who has an agricultural exemption, but that is…
-
Are you doing a transaction search for bills? I did a quick search on vendor bills by a specific vendor, and used the paying transaction fields date, and it came up OK.
-
I think I have done the same thing, but I also cannot apply the payment, even to a customer with open invoices. Maybe something has changed. Sorry I am no help.
-
That doesn't work for me, as we only have one a/r account that shows up when I hit apply. Interesting.
-
What would the correct account be? Mine is currently set to undeposited funds, because it was a check that needed to be deposited. Even though the check has since been deposited, it still shows up as undeposited until you apply it.
-
We created a check box that we check when we want an order to be on hold. We actually remove the fulfill button, so that it can't be fulfilled accidentally, and it is set up with two states. The first is to remove the buttons, the second is to display a big red message stating the order is on hold. I am not sure if this…
-
I have made the workflow, and so far in testing it seems to work. Do you know if it is possible to add the message to the view screen, similar to the payment hold for credit card declines, so that as soon as a user pulls up the sales order in view mode, they can see the message that the order is on hold?
-
Yes, now that you mention it, I think perhaps the problem of not having them commit inventory was part of why we didn't want to use the pending approval before. Along with not wanting to have to approve every order that we enter. We have not done a lot of workflows, so I am not very familiar with them. Do you think it is…
-
I will have to give that a try. I ended up hiding the fulfill button, so that regardless of whether anyone notices it is on hold, it cannot ship out. It has been working very well so far. Our shipping department knows that if the fulfill button is gone, they need to come and talk to someone in the credit department.
-
Thanks. I will try that.
