Thank you for being a valued part of our community!
To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation. By using the community, you also agree to the Oracle Terms of Use Policy & Privacy Policies.
What's My Role?
Member
As a member, your role is to interact in the community within the published community guidelines. This can take the form of creating new posts, asking questions, submitting an idea for enhancement, or addressing a fellow member's question. By engaging with other community members, you are performing your role already. Great job!
Group Leader
It is the group leaders responsibility to ensure community engagement is healthy and thriving. If a group is hidden or private, the group leader will approve requests and invite members to join. They will also ensure that content posted is pertinent to the intended scope of the group. Content posted within groups should be...
- Moderated for spam and offensive content
- Curated to ensure dated and irrelevant subject matter is archived
- Responded to in a timely manner, especially questions posed to the community
Category Owner
The category owners job is similar to that of a group leader, but at the category level. Category Owners can create events, update category resource cards, groom idea submissions, and generally moderate the content within a category.
It falls within the scope of a category owner to ensure that members are interacting with content posted within a category. Published content should be...
- Moderated for spam and offensive content
- Curated to ensure dated and irrelevant subject matter is archived
- Responded to in a timely manner, especially questions posed to the community

By joining and using this community, you agree to reserve our forum for appropriate and related content. This is a great platform for soliciting the advice of your peers, benefitting from their experience, and participating in an ongoing conversation.
Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines. In order to preserve an environment that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership in this community for anyone who violate these rules.
The Rules
- Respect others. Focus on the content of posts and not on the people making them. Please extend the benefit of the doubt to newer guests and members; there’s no such thing as a stupid question.
- Respect the purpose of the community. Use the community to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals. If you’ve found a product or service helpful, we and your peers would love to hear about it!
- All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Content that violates this rule will be taken down. Repeat offenders are subject to community suspension.
- Post your message to the most appropriate communities. This helps ensure that all messages receive the best response by reducing "noise."
Discussion Etiquette
State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. A clear subject allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
This community belongs to everyone. You are encouraged to alert us to issues and to share feedback on posts, either on the original thread or any responses that you want to highlight!
Take the following actions on a post to raise issues or share feedback:
Flag: This action allows you to send a message to a Community Moderator about this specific post or a question in general. Flagging a post alerts us to an issue for quick resolution. It does not show up in the feed, and will not negatively affect the post unless a problem is identified. Your role will remain anonymous. A moderator will review and take appropriate action.
- Spam: Flag a post as spam when a post is self-promoting a product or service.
- Abuse: Flag a post as abuse when a post begins to move into harassment or targets a person or group.
Quote: This action pulls the discussion into your comment, which can be especially helpful if you are responding to a post with a lot of comments or want to call attention to a particular comment in your post.
Like: This action allows you to express a positive reaction to what a contributor has added to the conversation.
Up Vote/Down Vote: This reaction allows you to share your general approval or disapproval of a post. Too many down votes buries a given post while up votes promote the post to the top of discussion activity.
