The issue could be solved by extending the expirary date of the demo certificate which was still in use by the NoteManager. All other certificates are using a company signature. HINT: wlst.sh :/

Our migration of Oracle BI repository and Oracle Essbase repository from database version 11g to 12c was successful. Thanks again for everyones help and for providing the useful link (regarding Oracle BI). For Oracle Essbase it is important to run the registry-cleanup.sh after making all the changes.

It's quite funny that our repository variable also just got stuck on the same day. Anyways the thread provided by Joel should give you an estimate overview of the problem and you will see that there is no real fix for it so far.
