Executing a client script in view mode

This Note describes how to add a button in view mode   [LEFT]Answer Id: 35096[/LEFT].  I need to block a field in view mode.  Block s field in view mode you say?  Yes.  On a drop ship sales order in view mode the createpo field displays a link to create a po. I need to disable it.
