Itemlist in SalesOrder Transactionsearch

Iam doing transaction search to get Sales order and Purchase order records. When I am getting sales order record Iam getting Itemlist as null. Is it something Iam doing wrong or is Netsuite not sending Itemlist values. I appreciate if someone can give me the steps to do it. Iam using Java client and using TransactionSearch.
