Last Modified Date Post-Release

Is anyone else having issues with the search using Last Modified as a filter. We use this to determine is a product has been changed since the last update via Web Services to our website. Now we see that every product has been marked as last updated yesterday at 2:30am with nothing in the system notes for that item. I am on the line with support to issue this bug but just wondering if anyone else is having a similar issue.
