Removing Image from Media Tab

If you add an image to a Media tab within a website category, and then decide you want to remove the image - hoe do you do it?

Every way I try just seems to keep reloading the image I previously had loaded - I can replace the image with a blank placeholder, but I can't remove the image totally.

Is this the normal behaviour?

This issue is also true for product images within Inventory Items too, and I suspect everywhere else an image can be loaded from the File Cabinet.

Is there a hack to get past this?
