Advanced Site Customization downgrade...

We have been with NetSuite for 3 years now and have always used the Advanced Site Module for our web-site. Now, with the way things are with cash flow, we are considering dropping this module at renewal.  We have no experience with NetSuite's regular website setups. Everything we did was custom from the beginning.

Has anyone ever made the switch from advanced to regular? And if so, was it too incredibly painful?? I spoke to the contractor that helped set up our NS website and he didn't have any working knowledge of NS' regular website program so he couldn't give me much information.
