Use case of bundles without SuiteCloud Developer Network

As here described https://netsuite.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10200
you need to be member of the SuiteCloud Developer Network to use managed bundles.

But I don't see any sense and use cases to use a non managed bundle?
