Report to show gross profit by vendor

I am trying to build a report to show GP by vendor. I could get the total revenue by looking at sales by vendor report but how can i determine the inventory cost and Freight cost related to it. I think i could use Beginning inventory + Purchases during the period - Ending inventory to calculate inventory cost. I don't have any clue to calculate the freight cost yet. Is there a way i can pull a report to show me gross profit by vendor?
