Show only select Commerce Categories for Customer

I am trying to show only one commerce category when a specific customer logs into their account on our SuiteCommerce website. I have created a commerce category with the item(s), a static customer group, set the customer segment on the customer record and item record. What am I missing? When I log in to test, I can see the newly created category on the header, but the item is not showing.
