What's the best way to migrate foreign currency bank balances to NetSuite?

Hello. As part of an ongoing project, we need to migrate open foreign currency bank balances to NetSuite. The last time, we worked out the foreign currency amounts to post via GL journals by using the base currency balances we required multiplied by the exchange rates at the end of each period. The outcome was disastrous. Could you advise the best way to migrate such balances?
