Not able to edit Item Receipt received from Inbound Shipment

When we receive an Inbound Shipment, we found out the item receipt generated from Inbound Shipment is not Editable.

We are not able to make any modification for the quantity received, or revise landed cost. We have the need to do such modification from time to time though.

Is this the system setting that can be configured, or this is by design? Is there any solution around it?
